Bowing Basement Wall Fixed in West Salem, WI

A homeowner from West Salem, WI, had been worried about his basement walls for some time now. Over the years, the homeowner had watched as the walls slowly cracked in various places, leading the wall to bow inward. Not wanting the issue to worsen, the homeowner decided to find a foundation repair company in Wisconsin to help. Through the recommendation of a friend, the homeowner signed up for one of our FREE estimates, and several weeks later Mac C, one of our Design Specialists, was out to the home.

Mac diligently inspected the entire house, paying close attention to the basement walls. When he concluded, he met with the homeowner and informed him that foundation walls are designed to withstand loads from the top, not from the side. So when the pressure on the side of the wall exceeds what the wall can withstand, it's not uncommon for homeowners to see cracking, bowing, sliding in at the bottom, and/or tilting inward at the top. Mac then went on to say that he had the perfect solution, our PowerBrace system. Mac explained that PowerBraces are a patented foundation wall repair system that's designed to stabilize failing basement walls and provide the potential to straighten walls over time. These steel I-beams will stabilize the wall in its current position without any further adjustment. Over time, the PowerBrace System can be tightened to make bowing or tilting walls straighter and more vertical. The homeowner agreed with the proposed work and set a date for the installation.

On the day of the project, our Foreman, Francisco E, and his team arrived bright and early at the home. After a long day, the team had effortlessly installed 6 of our PowerBraces throughout the basement on the affected walls. Now, our customer can rest a bit easier at night knowing that his foundation has the proper line of defense!

Crawl Space Maintenance in West Salem, WI

A homeowner in West Salem, WI, noticed a musty odor throughout their home. Unsure of the cause, the homeowner looked into "causes of musty odor in homes". The homeowner learned the cause of the unpleasant odor was their crawl space. Hoping to solve the issue before the winter, the homeowner began looking into "crawl space maintenance near me". One of the first companies to catch their eye was us, American Waterworks, so the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, we sent one of our Design Specialists, Will, to the home to take a closer look at the crawl space. Will promptly arrived and began his detailed investigation of the crawl space. After he completed the inspection, Will determined the entire space needed to be encapsulated. Will presented his proposal to the homeowners and they decided to go along with the plan. Next, Will passed the proposal to our Logistics team to build and schedule the project. Our Logistics team scheduled the project for the following weeks. Once the project date arrived, our Foreman, Lane, and his crew traveled to the home to begin the installation. First, Lane and his crew made sure the space was cleared for the installation. Next, Lane and his crew installed Drainage Matting on the basement floor. Once the Drainage Matting was secured, Lane and his team attached CleanSpace to the crawl space walls and floors. Finally, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was delighted with the excellent work completed by the crew. American Waterworks is happy to repair its customer's damaged crawl spaces.

Sunken Porch Lifted with PolyLevel in West Salem, WI

A homeowner in West Salem, WI, noticed that his porch had begun sinking, causing the area to tilt and become uneven. Knowing the issue would only continue to worsen, the homeowner began looking into concrete lifting in the area and found us. After looking into our company, the services we offer, and our values, the homeowner contacted us to schedule her FREE estimate.

In less than a week, our Design Specialist, Ross J., arrived at the home to conduct a thorough inspection of the areas of concern, answer any questions, and provide the best solution for the homeowner. Ross explained to the homeowner that one of the most common causes of sinking concrete slabs is soil washout. When it rains or floods, water moves through the ground and washes away the supporting soils, keeping the slabs upright. To fix this issue, Ross recommended PolyLevel, our waterproof foam formula that expands beneath settled slabs, causing accurate lifting. Alongside PolyLevel, Ross also recommended NexusPro, our silicone-based sealant that provides durability and flexibility to seal the joints. The homeowner happily agreed to Ross's recommendations, and the installation date was scheduled.

In about a month, our Foreman, Jordan S., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. The crew began installing PolyLevel by drilling small 3/8 inch holes into the concrete slabs. PolyLevel is then injected beneath the slab, filling in the voids in the soil and causing the slab to lift. Once lifted to the desired level, the crew seals the holes with cement. Lastly, they sealed the joints with NexusPro. After the crew was done with the installation, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.
