A homeowner in North Branch, MN, noticed a musty smell around their home. Unsure of the source, the homeowner wanted to have a professional company come out to the home to investigate. Unsure of what company to move forward with, the homeowner began doing research. After comparing various other companies, the homeowner came across American Waterworks. Once they saw our extensive list of services, they put their project in our hands. Nick, one of our Design Specialists, traveled to the home to complete the homeowner's FREE estimate. Following his comprehensive inspection, Nick found that the musty smell was coming from the homeowner's crawl space. Nick provided the homeowner with a solution that had several versions to give the homeowner options. After considering all the options, the homeowner picked the one best fit for their circumstances. Once the plans were approved, a crew was assigned and production began. Our Foreman, Matt, and his crew arrived at the home and began by installing one Helical Pier on the north wall. Next, the crew removed all the debris from the dirt floor. Once the debris was cleared the crew placed the drainage matting on the crawl space floor. Then, CleanSpace was installed across the floor and up the crawl space walls. Additionally, Foamax was installed around the perimeter of the crawl space. Finally, Sprayfoam was injected around the fuller perimeter of the crawl space joist pockets. The homeowners were impressed by the work completed by the crew. American Waterworks is glad to help assist another customer in accomplishing their at-home goals.
Doug G. in North Branch, MN had a dirt crawl space that was high in moisture and was letting energy out of his home, therefore wasting his money. A friend referred him to American Waterworks because they had previously had a great experience while working with us. Doug decided to check us out, and he contacted us for a FREE estimate. We were happy to send one of our Design Specialists, Chad Johnson, to his home to inspect his problem and provide a solution. Chad developed a thorough waterproofing plan for his crawl space that would permanently keep the space clean and energy efficient. Doug was happy with the proposal, so they scheduled a time for our crew to do the install.
Our production team installed drainage matting, a SmartDrain, our CleanSpace vapor barrier, and TerraBlock. The combination of these waterproofing products protect the space from losing energy, moisture accumulating, and the potential of mold growth. The project only took a day to complete, and this solution will last for the lifetime of the home. Doug is glad he chose to invest in the long-term protection of his home, and the cost savings that come with having an energy efficient space.

Crawl spaces tend to be dark and creepy for small children. For adults, they're dark and creepy for other reasons. For instance, they're known for being the source of pooling water, and bowing wood can mean the foundation of the home is unstable, creating unease in the back of the mind. So when a homeowner from Rush City, MN, contacted us about their unstable crawl space, we knew we had to act fast. Our Design Specialist, Ryan, went to the property to assess the situation and recommended a few fixes that would transform the space. He recommended our SmartJack system for crawl spaces to keep the area stable. This particular system provides supplemental support to your failing structure, but can also lift failing floor joists or beams over time, restoring them to their original position. Our Foreman, Gabriel, was able to make the installation with the help of his fantastic crew. Now, the homeowners don't need to fear their crawl space and the various issues it could pose.
