A homeowner from Eau Claire, WI, was down in her basement one day when she noticed a puddle of standing water. She was immediately disconcerted, as she didn't know what this issue could mean for her space. She took to the internet to search for 'interior basement waterproofing near me' and quickly found our website. Jim Grinder in Eau Claire, WI had a bowing foundation wall that was concerning him. He felt it was important to have a foundation repair expert take a look at it, so he gave American Waterworks a call. One of our Design Specialists, Chad Johnson, went to Jim’s home to provide him with a free onsite estimate. Chad recommended that we install wall anchors to permanently stabilize his wall. Jim was pleased with the proposal that Chad put together, so he decided to move forward with the installation.

Our production team started the installation process by drilling holes into the brick wall and inserting long metal rods that go into the soil outside of the home. Then, the rod is secured with anchors on each end. Once they tightened the anchors, the wall started to straighten. The anchors can continue to be tightened over time, to continue straightening the wall. Our Foreman, Juan, and his production team began the project by digging small holes outside of the home, beyond the foundation. From the inside of the foundation, our team inserted a long, metal rod to each hole outside of the home. At the ends of each rod in the soil, our team installed an anchor plate, which holes the rod in place underground. From inside the foundation, our team installed a GeoLock Wall Anchor to the ends of each rod to stabilize the foundation wall. This combination allows the wall to straighten itself out over time and because of the way our anchor system is designed, it can be tightened by the homeowner to ensure it is still doing its job. To complete the work, our team backfilled each hole beyond the foundation and compacted the soil. Steve was happy with the work that was done and had a good experience!
