Following his walk-through, Dylan determined that the cause of the cracked garage foundation was settlement. To stop the cracking from continuing, Dylan recommended installing GeoLock Wall anchors to the west and north foundation walls. Once the homeowner approved the plans, they were sent to our Office to be approved. Once they received the final stamp of approval, they were sent to our Foreman, Kingsley, and his crew. Kingsley and his crew arrived at the home to begin the project. The crew began by preparing the cracked wall for the GeoLock installation. The crew attached seven GeoLock Wall Anchors to the garage foundation, three on the west wall and four on the north wall. Once the GeoLock Anchors were secure, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was thankful for the excellent work completed by the crew. Jodi G. of Devils Lake, ND had a crack in her foundation wall, and she was worried about the stability and straightness of it. She called American Waterworks and scheduled a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Ian Schultz. Ian went to her home, examined and diagnosed the problems with the wall, and drew out a solution that worked for her and home repair needs. Our production Foreman, Corey, and his team began the installation by digging small holes outside of the home beyond the foundation and inserted a long, metal rod from the inside of the basement to each hole. At the ends of each rod beyond the foundation, our team installed an anchor plate, which holds the rod in place in the soil. Next, our crew screwed on and installed a GeoLock Wall Anchor to the end of each rod, stabilizing and straightening the foundation wall. To complete the installation, our crew backfilled each hole and replaced the soil, ensuring the yard was neater than when they found it. Jodi was happy with the installation and had a great experience from start to finish!

Our Foreman, Jose Castillo, and his production team removed the concrete around the perimeter of the basement floor. They installed 22 PowerBraces and secured them to the walls before laying the WaterGuard drainage system. Once the WaterGuard was laid, they installed our SuperSump and CleanSpace wall vapor barrier, filled back the gaps in the concrete with rock, and replaced the concrete. The installation took a couple of days to complete, but Derek is now confident in the stability of his home, and he has peace of mind that his basement will remain dry.

Next, our crew installed our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier around the entire basement wall perimeter. The purpose of this is to prevent mold and humidity, save money on energy costs, and give the basement a bright appearance. Lastly, Jose and his team installed our PowerBraces around the wall perimeter over the CleanSpace. Our PowerBraces are designed to repair foundation walls over time and fix the inward bow. To complete the project, our crew covered the open gaps with river rock and applied new concrete over them, ensuring the space was neat and clean.
