Bryan H. of Clear Lake, IA had a cracked foundation wall in his basement, causing him to worry about further bowing or cracking. He called American Waterworks and scheduled a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Dylan Woitas. Dylan went to his home, inspected his wall, and drew up the solution of our GeoLock Wall Anchors. Bryan understood its design and got all of his questions answered so he went ahead with the project.
Our Foreman, Jesus Covarrubias, and his production team began the project by digging three small holes outside of the home beyond the foundation. In the basement, Jesus and his crew inserted a long, metal rod to each hole outside, and tightened and screwed on a GeoLock Wall Anchor to the end of each rod. The wall anchor system permanently stabilizes a foundation wall by anchoring the wall to the compact soil and pulling it back to its original position. After installation, wall anchors can be tightened over time to further straighten the wall. To complete the installation, Jesus and his team backfilled the holes and replaced the soil. Bryan said he was happy with the project!
Susan B. of Clear Lake, IA had sagging floor joists and water leaking into her crawl space, and it made her worry about the structural build of her home. She did research online and came across American Waterworks. She called our office line to learn more information and request a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Ryan Powell. Ryan went to her home, inspected her crawl space, and drew out a detailed plan. Susan was comfortable with the presentation and proposal, so she moved forward with the project.
Our Foreman, Juan Pena, and his production team began the project by installing our drainage matting. The purpose of drainage matting is to direct the water flooding the crawl space into the perimeter crawl space drain and sump pump system. Next, our team installed our Foamax Wall Panels around the crawl space perimeter. Our Foamax is a foam insulation that reduces moisture condensation, provides comfort, and makes the walls look nice and bright. Then, our crew installed our CleanSpace Encapsulation Vapor Barrier on top of the drainage matting. Our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier is made to stop moisture from passing through the walls and floors. Lastly, Juan and his team installed our crawl space SmartJacks, which provides solid support for sagging beams and restores the stability in a crawl space. Susan had a remarkable experience!

After Dylan arrived, he began inspecting the back foundation wall and discovered it was showing early signs of wall failure. Since Dylan discovered the source of the issue, he could come up with a suggested solution. To stop the wall failure from progressing, Dylan suggested ten Geolock anchors be installed on the north and east walls. Knowing this would stop the wall from further failing, the homeowner agreed with Dylan's suggestions. Once they received the okay, the plans were directed to Arturo and his crew. Arturo and his crew arrived to begin the GeoLock installation. The crew installed four GeoLocks on the north wall and six on the east wall. Once all the GeoLocks were installed, the crew cleaned up their site and left the home. The homeowners were relieved to know their wall was no longer at risk of failure.
