Nick in Waconia, MN just moved in to a new home and discovered cracks in his foundation and a bowing basement wall. He was concerned about the value of his home and the potential problems these foundation issues could cause if left alone, so he contacted American Waterworks to have one of our foundation repair experts inspect his foundation. Our Design Specialist, Chad Johnson, determined that Nick’s best option was to repair his foundation using wall anchors. Chad explained the process and let Nick know that repairing his foundation will solve the problem in an efficient and cost-effective way, so Nick chose to move forward with having our system installed.

Our production team installed 14 wall anchors along the perimeter of Nick’s foundation walls in his basement. We drilled long metal rods through the brick walls and into the soil surrounding the home. Then we secured the rods with anchor plates on each end and tightened them. After the installation, the walls became stable and began to straighten. Angelina S. of Waconia, MN had cracked and bowing foundation walls. In fact, on rainy days, water would come into her basement. She worked with American Waterworks for the repairs. Our Foreman, Juan Pena, and his crew installed our WaterGuard Below Floor Drain, CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier, and our Wall Anchors to waterproof the basement and repair the foundation walls. Our WaterGuard is an interior drainage system that collects water seepage from basement walls. Our CleanSpace is a vapor barrier that prevents mold and humidity, while also saving money on energy costs. Lastly, our wall anchor system is a special anchor-rod installation that stabilizes foundation walls and allows the wall to straighten back to its normal position. To complete the entire installation, Juan and his team filled the open-floor gaps (that were broken out with a jackhammer) with river rock and an additional layer of concrete. Bev H. of Morristown, MN had bowed foundation walls so she called American Waterworks for a FREE Estimate. Our Design Specialist, Jeremy Girgen, went to her home to inspect the problem and come up with a solution. Bev was comfortable with the proposal so she got an installation date scheduled. 

Our Foreman, Hugo Sanchez, and his production team began the installation by digging two holes outside of the left side of the home. In each hole, our team installed a long, metal rod from the exterior soil to the interior foundation wall. On each end of the rod, our crew installed our GeoLock Wall Anchors, will tighten and straighten the foundation walls back into their normal position. To complete the installation, Hugo and his team replaced the exterior soil and backfilled each hole. Bev was thrilled with the outcome and couldn't believe the project only took one day!

Our Foreman, Jesus Covarrubias, and his production team started the installation by cleaning the wall to ensure good adhesion and saturated the masonry with epoxy. Then, our team installed 10 of our CarbonArmor strips and coated it with more epoxy to adhere the strips to the wall and to enhance each strip's strength. Ann and John were happy and impressed by how quickly the project went!
