A Lyle, MN, homeowner was facing an issue with his basement. His old sump pump had been cycling for days, even though there had been no rain in the last few months. Exhausted of hearing the system working overtime, he began to look for sump pump repairs near him. When he found American Waterworks, he figured signing up for one of our FREE estimates couldn't do any harm. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist headed out to the home. 

Once he completed his inspection, he met with the homeowner to inform him that we could address the issue using our TripleSafe sump pump. Our Design Specialist explained that the TripleSump is the most reliable pump in our lineup, providing three levels of protection for your basement and your peace of mind. For normal functioning, the TripleSafe boasts a powerful, cast-iron Zoeller® ⅓ horsepower sump pump set at the lowest level. For heavy volumes of water or in case of primary pump failure, a second, more powerful Zoeller® ½ hp pump set a bit higher in the liner will take over.  Our Design Specialist also recommended the addition of our Ultra Sump back-up system, which can pump out an excess of 11,500 gallons of water on a fully charged battery, which is enough water to fill a small swimming pool. The homeowner agreed to the work and scheduled the project for several weeks later.

Our production team started the process by removing the carpet and the concrete for the WaterGuard drainage system and sump pump to be installed. The WaterGuard was laid on the perimeter of her basement and the sump pump was installed in the corner. The drainage system now properly drains water to the sump pump and from there, the sump pump pushes the water through the discharge line to be expelled from the home. Our production team started the installation process by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement floor. They laid a partial perimeter of our WaterGuard drainage system around the basement floor. Then, they installed our SuperSump sump pump and filled the void around the sump pump and WaterGuard with rock. Lastly, they replaced the concrete over the WaterGuard and around the sump pump. The drainage system now properly drains water to the sump pump, and from there the water is pushed through the discharge line and expelled from the home. Richard can rest easy knowing that water will no longer be in his basement. He is glad he chose to invest in protecting his home for years to come.

In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard System, which is designed to prevent water clogs, serve as an underground drain, and collect water seepage from basement walls. To complete the project, our team covered the open waterway gaps with rock and applied new concrete. Eileen and Jerry were happy with the repairs and had a great experience!
