CarbonArmor Supports Wall in Burnsville, MN

Brett from Burnsville, MN found out his foundation was in jeopardy when he noticed cracks that were being created by the bowing of the foundation wall. Brett started to worry about the structure of his home and was looking for a cost-effective solution. Brett then contacted the Appointment Center at American Waterworks and schedule his FREE estimate which entitled Brett to a free home inspection by our Design Specialist. Once the appointment was scheduled, the Design Specialist headed out to Brett's home to conduct a thorough inspection to provide Brett with the best solution to solve his problems and prevent the wall from bowing any further. Our Design Specialist proposed to Brett that the best solution to prevent any further bowing of the wall is our CarbonArmor solution. The CarbonArmor is a carbon fiber strap that goes alongside the wall and stabilizes the foundation and is attached to the wall with a special epoxy. The CarbonArmor strengthens due to the pressure that is applied to it. Brett agrees with the proposition and proceeds with the project. Once the installation date was scheduled, our foreman Chris Newton proceeded to install four CarbonArmor straps alongside the issue wall. Brett was impressed with the quick installation and the cost of the proceeding, and his peace of mind was restored knowing that he did not have to worry about the foundation of his home!!

Foundation Wall Repair in Burnsville, MN

Kent J. of Burnsville, MN had a bowing foundation wall, making him worry about the stability of his home. He knew of American Waterworks, so he called our office line and scheduled a FREE estimate with one of our Design Specialists. Our Design Specialist went to Kent's home and inspected the wall to figure out the best solution. Our Design Specialist proposed our Wall Anchor System, which is a system that stabilizes foundation walls by anchoring the wall to the compact soil beyond the foundation. Kent was confident in the product and its warranty, so he went ahead with the project.

Our Foreman and his production team began the project by digging holes outside of the home beyond the foundation. From the interior foundation, our team installed a long, metal rod through the wall to each hole outside of the home. Each anchor is connected by the rod to a wall plate, which provides the pressure needed to straighten the foundation wall. Over time, homeowners can tighten their anchors with a torque wrench to ensure the system is sticking to its design. To complete the installation, our crew backfilled each hole outside of the home and ensured the yard was neater than they found it. Kent was happy with the work that was performed and had a great experience from appointment to installation!

At American Waterworks, we provide services for basement waterproofing, foundation repair, crawl space encapsulation/repair, radon testing/mitigation, and concrete lifting/repair. Call us today or click HERE to request your free estimate!

Cabin Wall Stabilized in Shevlin, MN

David, who owns a cabin in Shevlin, MN, noticed some issues with his basement space. Unfortunately, the block wall on the east side of the home was cracking and bowing. He contacted us as he realized these were signs of failing. He feared he might risk compromising the home's structural integrity if he left the issue unresolved. When he called in, we set him up with a FREE estimate. Shortly after his appointment was scheduled, our Design Specialist, Ian, headed out to the property. After Ian completed a thorough walkthrough, he explained how our team would properly address the issue.

Ian talked to David about installing our GeoLock Wall Anchors to correct the issue. He explained that this innovative system permanently stabilizes foundation walls by anchoring them to the hard-packed virgin soil beyond the foundation. He went on to say that the anchors can be tightened over time. David agreed and work began shortly after.

Our Foreman, Tanner, and his crew headed out to the cabin and got to work. The team installed 75of our GeoLock anchors throughout the basement wall. They discussed with David that it is recommended to use the tightening kit every 4-6 weeks and that we would be in contact in 9-12 months to schedule his 1st Annual Maintenance. At the end of the project, David was happy to know that his basement walls were no longer an issue.

GeoLock Secure Foundation Wall in Maple Grove, MN

A homeowner in Maple Grove, MN, knew their foundation was struggling. After holding it off for long enough, the homeowner began their search for a solution. After seeing our advertisement in Shopwise Maple Grove, the homeowner was interested in our services. The homeowner called the number on the paper and was connected to our Appointment Specialists. After signing up for their FREE estimate, the homeowner awaited the arrival of Daniel, one of our Design Specialists. Daniel traveled to the home to meet with the homeowner and investigate the foundation. Following introductions, Daniel completed a full inspection of the home's foundation. Daniel discovered that the wall was showing early signs of wall failure. To stop the wall failure from continuing, Daniel suggested installing GeoLocks around the entire foundation. Wanting their home to be safe, the homeowner agreed with Daniel's recommendations. Once they were approved, the plans were sent to our Foreman, Luis, and his crew. After they arrived at the home, the crew began installing 28 GeoLock anchors around the entire foundation.  Along with the GeoLock anchors, the crew included a straightening kit. This will allow the walls to be straightened over time. The crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was delighted with the excellent work completed by the crew. American Waterworks is happy to stabilize another home's foundation.

Failing Foundation Finds Solution in Maple Grove, MN

A homeowner from Maple Grove, MN, was in the middle of a basement renovation when he ripped out some drywall, exposing severe wall failure underneath. The homeowner was immediately uneasy about what this could mean for the home's structural integrity. He was unsure how to repair the foundation crack and decided to find a basement specialist to assist him. After seeing our website, he signed up for a FREE estimate and several weeks later, Adam V, one of our Design Specialists, was headed out to the home.

When Adam arrived, he headed right down into the basement to see the extent of the damage.  When he finished his walkthrough, he met with the homeowner to deliver his recommendation. Adam began by explaining that foundation walls are designed to withstand pressure from above, not from the side. So when the side pressure on a wall exceeds what it can withstand, it's not uncommon for homeowners to see cracking, sliding in at the bottom, bowing, and/or tilting inward at the top. Adam could tell the homeowner seemed uneasy, so he reassured him that while the problem seemed daunting, the solution was fairly simple. Adam recommended our GeoLock wall anchors. These anchors work to counteract the pressure being put on the wall by anchoring the failing wall to the hard-packed, undisturbed soil beyond the foundation, pulling the wall back into place. Adam finished by saying that, once installed, the anchors would be tightened down the road as the house continues to shift and settle. The homeowner was relieved that Adam could explain the problem, as well as a comprehensive solution, and decided to sign on the spot.

On the day of the project, our Foreman, Matt Z, was able to lead his team through a flawless installation of 5 GeoLock anchors throughout the basement of the home. Now, our customer can continue on with his basement renovation, knowing the foundation of his home is in tip-top shape!
