Once the estimate details were finalized, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of our Design Specialist, Ian. A few days later, Ian arrived at the home and started his thorough inspection of the home. While inspecting their current sump, Ian confirmed it was not running properly. Ian recommended installing a new sump pump in a better location to ensure their basement stays dry. After hearing Ian's recommendations, the homeowner knew this was their best plan of action. Next, Ian passed the proposal to our Logistics team to build and finalize the project. Our Logistics team gave the final stamp of approval, then the plans were scheduled for a few weeks later. When the project date arrived, our Foreman, Kingsley, and his crew traveled to the home to begin. First, Kingsley and his crew started by installing WaterGuard along the basement perimeter. Once the WaterGuard was secured, the crew shifted to installing the TripleSafe Sump Pump in the corner closet. After the TripleSafe was secured, the crew attached CleanSpace to the unfinished basement walls. Once all the products were secured, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was given peace of mind knowing their basement was dry and secure. American Waterworks is glad to provide its customers relief, knowing their basements are dry and secure.

Our Foreman, Ryan, and his production team began the project by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter with a jackhammer, making a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard Below-Floor Drain which is the most common interior drainage system that we provide for homeowners. It has easily accessible service ports, prevents water and mud clogs, and it collects water waste from basement walls. Next, our crew installed our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier around the basement wall perimeter, which prevents mold and mildew, covers holes and divots in the walls, and gives the basement a neat, fresh appearance. To complete the work, our crew filled the open gaps in the floor with river rock and applied new concrete over them, ensuring the space looked neater than when they found it.

Alisha, a homeowner in Stanton, ND, was searching for assistance with her basement issues. Groundwater was leaking through the cement floors and cinder block walls; the water stayed close to the foundation and saturated the area. She thought that our team could help with possible solutions, from sump pumps to sealing the block, so she called for FREE estimate. Our Design Specialist, Richie, traveled to his home to take a look around. Once he completed his walkthrough, he was ready to recommend a plan to transform the basement into a healthy, clean space.
Dylan, our Foreman, headed out to the house with his crew and got to work. First, they created a full-perimeter WaterGuard System with a lateral feed line where issues were present. Our WaterGuard is a patented below-floor drain that rests in a drainage bed on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, easy-to-access service ports, and ability to collect leaking water from basement walls. To complete the WaterGuard project, our team covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. The crew then added a half-wall of our CleanSpace to encapsulate the basement to prevent moisture and mold from affecting the rest of the foundation. Then, our crew inserted our SuperSump® Premier Pump System. It is engineered to help keep the basement dry and healthy for extended periods, even during heavy water intrusion. The SuperSump® includes a powerful Zoeller® ⅓ horsepower cast-iron sump pump, capable of pumping 2,220 gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head out of your basement. To direct water away from the home's foundation so that it would not leak back into the basement, the team added a 30-foot discharge line from the West end of the basement. Furthermore, American Waterworks can help prevent wintertime freeze-up of discharge lines. We installed the patented IceGuard® system, an anti-freeze fitting that is installed outside of the home and ejects water away from the foundation if the sump pump discharge lines freeze or become clogged. Once the job was done, our customer was happy to know that her basement had been transformed, and she no longer had to worry about water intrusion!
