Bette and James A. of Marshall, MN were starting to see small holes through the foundation of their home. With the home being 100 years old, they wanted to get an opinion on what the best ways would be to ensure the home is safe to live in. They got in touch with American Waterworks and got a FREE estimate schedule with our Design Specialist team. Our Design Specialist, Shane, went to the home, carefully inspected the problems, and determined a solution for our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier, WaterGuard Below-Floor Drain, and our TripleSafe Sump Pump System. Bette and James put down a deposit and followed through with the project.
Our Foreman, Jose, and his crew started the project by breaking out the entire concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our crew installed our WaterGuard Below-Floor Drain, which is designed to prevent water clogs and collect water seepage from basement walls. Next, our team installed our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrer around the entire basement wall perimeter, which is designed to prevent moisture and mold, cover any holes or divots in the foundation, and gives the basement a clean appearance. Lastly, our team installed our TripleSafe Sump Pump System, which has three layers of water protection, solves all three water problems in one unit, and comes with a battery backup in case of power failure. To complete the work, our team filled the open-floor gaps with river rock and applied new concrete over them. The homeowners were very satisfied with the work and post-installation walkthrough!

Shirley, of Tower City, ND, enlisted our services when she began to notice water entering the basement of her church. She got in touch with us and scheduled her FREE estimate with our Design Specialist, Kole, of our Fargo branch. Soon after, Kole was out at the property to thoroughly inspect the damage, diagnose the cause, and see what we could do to help Shirley and her congregation. Kole discovered that water was entering the property through the walls of the basement, leading to the moisture in the basement Shirley had described. He recommended Shirley invest in our CleanSpace vapor barrier, paired with our WaterGuard drain system, and our SuperSump Plus to give the excess water the appropriate place to drain.
The Foreman, Cameron, and his crew began work soon after. They began by installing the WaterGuard drainage system below the concrete of the floor, resting it atop the footing of the foundation. Next, they installed the CleanSpace vapor barrier on the North and South walls of the basement to address the leakage coming through the walls. The CleanSpace works hand-in-hand with the WaterGuard, as it catches the water entering through the wall, trapping it behind a tarp-like layer, and redirecting it down to the WaterGuard. Finally, Cameron and his crew installed the SuperSump Plus to gather the water that the CleanSpace and WaterGuard trapped.
Now Shirley and her congregation have peace of mind knowing their shared space will be water-free for a long time to come!
Homeowners in Okabena, MN had water leaking into their basement, causing them to worry about water moisture and flooding. They did their research and came across American Waterworks. Eric went to their home, carefully examined their problems, and came up with a solution that fit their needs and budget. Our Foreman, Juan Pena, and his production team began the project by breaking out the concrete perimeter with a jackhammer, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard System, which serves as an underground drain that connects to the sump pump, prevents water clogs, and collects water seepage from basement walls. Next, our team covered the open trench gaps with river rock and applied new concrete over it. The homeowners were happy with the work and were glad they no longer had to worry about their water problems!
Larry, from Odessa, MN, was looking for solutions for his vacation home's basement. The basement was experiencing water intrusion during rainy days, so he decided to call American Waterworks for a FREE estimate. Shortly after the appointment was scheduled, our Design Specialist, Shane, headed out to the property.
Following a thorough inspection, Shane recommended that Larry invest in our WaterGuard system. This particular system is typically used in basements and is the premier choice for basement waterproofing. It is installed below the floor but rests atop the foundation, keeping it out of the "mud zone" and making it harder to clog.
Ron agreed, and our crew got to work.
Our Foreman, Tremaine, and his crew began implementing our WaterGuard System, a patented below-floor drain that rests in a drainage bed on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, easy-to-access service ports, and can collect leaking water from basement walls. The team then covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete.
The drainage system now properly guides water to the sump pump, which pushes it through the discharge line and expels it from the home.
After all was said and done, Larry was very glad he decided to use American Waterworks and had his peace of mind restored.
A homeowner from Westbrook, MN, was down in her basement one day when she noticed a steady stream of water coming through the baseboard of her unfinished basement. She was worried that the leak could be an indicator of a larger issue and decided to find an interior basement waterproofing company in her area. Through a recommendation, she contacted American Waterworks and signed up for her FREE estimate.
Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Eric H, was headed out to the home. Eric diligently completed his inspection and then met with the homeowner to deliver his recommendations. Eric began by saying that the homeowner was correct to call us, stating that water intrusion issues only worsen with time, creating bigger messes and higher costs. Eric stated that the problem could be fixed with the installation of our WaterGuard and our SuperSump plus sump pump. Beginning with the WaterGuard, Eric explained that this product is a unique French drain that gets installed below the basement floor, but atop the footing of the foundation, keeping it out of the 'mud zone' where similar drains tend to clog. It functions to give the water entering through the floor a channel to flow freely to the SuperSump pump, an effective yet economical solution for ridding a basement of water. The homeowner was thrilled with Eric's solution and signed on the spot.
Several weeks later, our Foreman, Lane S, and his team effortlessly installed 106 ft of WaterGuard and 1 SuperSump plus sump pump in the basement of the space. Now, our customer can breathe easy knowing that her basement will properly dispose of unwanted water!
