Jim and Laura G. of Windom, MN had water in their basement, and they wanted to prevent it from seeping in and getting worse. They came across our website and saw that we give FREE estimates. Dylan W., one of our Design Specialists, went to Jim and Laura's home, carefully examined and diagnosed their basement, and determined a proposal that would fit their needs. They followed through with the proposal of our WaterGuard Below Floor Drain and our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier.
Our Foreman, and his production team started the installation by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter with a jackhammer. In the broken-out trench, our crew installed our WaterGuard, which prevents mud and dirt clogs and collects water seepage from basement walls. Next, our crew installed our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier, which prevents humidity and mold, gives the basement warmth, and helps with energy efficiency. To finish the installation, our team filled the open gaps with river rock and applied a new layer of concrete.

John, a homeowner in Wheaton, MN, needed a solution for his basement water issues. With heavy rainfall, water entered the basement where the floor and foundation meet, and egress windows were filling up with water. After looking around he went on the American Waterworks website and we set him up with a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Ian. Ian went to his home to inspect the leaks and devise a solution. John got all of his questions answered and was confident in Ian's proposal, so he moved forward with the project.
First, Foreman and his production crew started the installation by completing a half-wall demo and then breaking out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard System along the East wall of the basement where issues were present. Our WaterGuard is a patented below-floor drain that rests in a drainage bed on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, easy-to-access service ports, and ability to collect leaking water from basement walls. To complete the WaterGuard project, Zachary and his team covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. Are you having water problems in your basement? Next, our TripleSafe Sump Pump System was implemented in the basement. Our TripleSafe Sump Pump has three levels of protection to solve all water problems a homeowner may experience. The TripleSafe Sump Pump also comes with a battery backup which helps when the home may lose power; the sump pump will still function and drain the excess water. To complete the project, the team covered the gaps with engineer fill, preventing soil from entering the Sump Basket and damaging the Pump System. Then they apply a new layer of concrete to give a finishing look. Finally, the team worked to fix the leaky basement windows with the WellDuct® Basement Window System to redirect flooding to a perimeter drain or drywell.
Once the job was done, our customer was happy to know that his basement had been transformed and he no longer had to worry about water intrusion!
John from Wheaton, MN was beginning to suspect that his sump pump was in need of an update. He noticed that the system wasn't performing as it used to, and as a result, unwanted water was finding its way into the lower levels of his home. John was afraid that the water would cause a more expensive issue to fix down the road if it wasn't properly addressed. He came across our business and decided to give us a call. We set John up with our FREE estimate and a few weeks later our Design Specialist, Ian, headed out to the property to see what could be done. Ian recommended our TripleSafe sump pump to replace the older model. Ian explained that the TripleSafe is our most reliable sump pump system, providing three levels of protection for your basement and your peace of mind. John agreed with his recommendations and work began weeks later.
Our Foreman, Zach, installed the new sump pump with no issues. Now John can head into the wetter months without worrying that his sump pump isn't equipped to handle large amounts of water.
A homeowner in Jackson, MN, previously had work completed by American Waterworks. They knew it was time to schedule their annual maintenance appointment, so they called our Appointment Center to schedule theirs. Our Appointment Specialist scheduled their appointment, and sent one of our Service Technicians, Darin, to the home. Darin arrived at the home and began his maintenance investigation. After Darin checked on our previous work, he noticed that the homeowner's sump pump was run down and there were signs of water seepage. Darin notified the homeowner of his discovery and provided them with a recommended plan. Knowing we do excellent work, the homeowner agreed with Darin's suggestions. The plans were sent to our Foreman, Kiko, and his crew. Once Kiko and his crew arrived at the home, they began by installing the WaterGuard around the basement perimeter. The WaterGuard is an award-winning, patented below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. After the WaterGuard was secured, the crew took out the old sump pump and replaced it with the SuperSump+. The SuperSump+ is designed to keep basements dry and healthy for long periods of time. After the SuperSump+ was secured into place, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was grateful for the wonderful work completed by the crew. American Waterworks is happy to provide another homeowner peace of mind.
A homeowner in Lamberton, MN was experiencing unstable foundation walls and water seeping into her basement. She had read about American Waterworks in the newspaper and decided to reach out to us. Shortly after she contacted us, our Design Specialist, Shane Nephew, went onsite to give her a free estimate. He developed a thorough plan to waterproof and stabilize her basement.
To waterproof her basement, we installed a full perimeter of WaterGuard which drains the water properly to the TripleSafe sump pump. We also installed Foamax wall insulation which creates a warmer, brighter basement while preventing wall condensation.
To stabilize her basement, we installed 10 PowerBraces against the walls to secure the foundation.
