A Walnut Grove, MN, homeowner had been aware that his basement was in trouble for a while. Over the years, the wall had begun to bow inward, and the water had begun to take on water during times of heavy rain. The homeowner knew that if he didn't do something about the problem wall, he could run the risk of compromising the structural integrity of the home or hindering the home from reaching its full resale value down the road. He began to look into MN foundation repair and quickly found our website. Impressed by our foundation repair jobs in his area, he decided to schedule his FREE estimate.
Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Eric H, headed out to the home. Eric completed a thorough inspection of the home, and when he was done, he met with the homeowner to go over his recommendations. Eric commended the homeowner on seeking a professional's input on the situation. He went on to say that foundation walls are designed to withstand loads from above, not from the side. So when the pressure on the wall exceeds what it can withstand, it's not uncommon for the homeowner to observe cracking, bowing, sliding in at the bottom, and/or tilting inward at the top. He also referred to the unwanted water in the space as an issue and stated that his recommendations would address both problems. Beginning with the damp basement, Eric recommended our CleanSpace vapor barrier, a 100% waterproof tarp-like material that gets installed directly onto the unfinished basement walls. It works to direct unwanted water entering through the wall downward and into a perimeter drain, which, in this case, Eric recommended to be our WaterGuard. This unique French drain gets installed below the floor of the basement but atop the footing of the foundation. This placement keeps the drain out of the 'mud zone' where similar drains tend to clog, leading to a flooded basement. To perfect the waterproofing system, Eric recommended our TripleSafe sump pump, the most reliable sump system in our lineup. Next, Eric moved on to the foundation repair. He recommended our PowerBrace wall repair system. This system is designed to stabilize failing basement walls and provide the potential to straighten walls over time. These steel I-beams will stabilize the wall in its current position without any further adjustments. The PowerBrace system can be tightened to make bowing or tilting walls straighter and more vertical over time. The homeowner was thrilled with Eric's comprehensive plan. and the two worked together to find the best day for the products to be installed.
On the day of the project, our Foreman, Kiko P, and his team installed 126 ft of WaterGuard, 126 ft of CleanSpace, 1 TripleSafe, and 9 PowerBrace's throughout the basement. Now, our customer can breathe a bit easier knowing his unhealthy basement has been transformed!
Eric D. of Milroy, MN had water seeping into his basement and he wanted to get it inspected by a professional. He knew of our Design Specialist, Eric Hazelton, so he told him about the problems he was having. After an informative discussion and a written-up quote, Eric D. decided to move forward with the project so he could get his problems repaired and fixed.
Our Foreman, Clay Bassingthwaite, and his production team started the installation by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter with a jackhammer, forming a waterway trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard Below-Floor Drain, which is an underground drain that collects water seepage from basement walls. Next, our crew installed our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier, which prevents mold, mildew, and humidity, and it gives the basement a bright, clean appearance. To complete the project, our team filled the open gaps in the floor with rock and applied new concrete over it. Eric D. was grateful we were able to help him with his basement repair needs!

John, a homeowner in Wheaton, MN, needed a solution for his basement water issues. With heavy rainfall, water entered the basement where the floor and foundation meet, and egress windows were filling up with water. After looking around he went on the American Waterworks website and we set him up with a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Ian. Ian went to his home to inspect the leaks and devise a solution. John got all of his questions answered and was confident in Ian's proposal, so he moved forward with the project.
First, Foreman and his production crew started the installation by completing a half-wall demo and then breaking out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard System along the East wall of the basement where issues were present. Our WaterGuard is a patented below-floor drain that rests in a drainage bed on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, easy-to-access service ports, and ability to collect leaking water from basement walls. To complete the WaterGuard project, Zachary and his team covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. Are you having water problems in your basement? Next, our TripleSafe Sump Pump System was implemented in the basement. Our TripleSafe Sump Pump has three levels of protection to solve all water problems a homeowner may experience. The TripleSafe Sump Pump also comes with a battery backup which helps when the home may lose power; the sump pump will still function and drain the excess water. To complete the project, the team covered the gaps with engineer fill, preventing soil from entering the Sump Basket and damaging the Pump System. Then they apply a new layer of concrete to give a finishing look. Finally, the team worked to fix the leaky basement windows with the WellDuct® Basement Window System to redirect flooding to a perimeter drain or drywell.
Once the job was done, our customer was happy to know that his basement had been transformed and he no longer had to worry about water intrusion!
John from Wheaton, MN was beginning to suspect that his sump pump was in need of an update. He noticed that the system wasn't performing as it used to, and as a result, unwanted water was finding its way into the lower levels of his home. John was afraid that the water would cause a more expensive issue to fix down the road if it wasn't properly addressed. He came across our business and decided to give us a call. We set John up with our FREE estimate and a few weeks later our Design Specialist, Ian, headed out to the property to see what could be done. Ian recommended our TripleSafe sump pump to replace the older model. Ian explained that the TripleSafe is our most reliable sump pump system, providing three levels of protection for your basement and your peace of mind. John agreed with his recommendations and work began weeks later.
Our Foreman, Zach, installed the new sump pump with no issues. Now John can head into the wetter months without worrying that his sump pump isn't equipped to handle large amounts of water.
