A homeowner in Grand Forks, ND, noticed an odd odor coming from their crawl space. Uncertain of the cause, the homeowner decided to complete some research. After taking a closer look at "why does my crawl space smell", the homeowner determined the odor was due to water intrusion. To prevent the odor and damage from worsening, the homewoner looked into "crawl space repair experts in Grand Forks, ND". One of the first companies to grab their attention was us, American Waterworks. Impressed with our stellar crawl space services, the homeowner knew that we were the ideal company for their project. The homeowner called our Appointment Center and signed up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of our Design Specialist, James. A few days later, James traveled to the home to begin the thorough inspection of the crawl space. During the inspection, James confirmed that the crawl space needed to be fully encapsulated. Knowing this was the best plan of action, the homeowner agreed and worked with James to find the best installation date. When the installation date arrived, our Foreman, Kingsley, and his crew traveled to the home to begin. First, the crew cleared out the debris. Once the debris cleared out, Kingsley and his crew shifted to laying Drainage Matting. Next, the crew attached CleanSpace to the unfinished basement walls. After all the products were secured, the crew cleaned up their matierals and left the home. The homeowner was grateful for the excellent work completed by the crew. James N. of Vergas, MN had a damp and musty crawl space, causing him to worry about mold, humidity, and pests. He went on HomeAdvisor and came across American Waterworks in our North Dakota location. He scheduled a FREE estimate with our Design Specialist, Richie. Richie went to his home, examined his crawl space, and drew up a solution that worked for him and his home repair needs. After a thorough inspection, James was confident in Richie's proposal and had all of his questions answered, so he signed the contract and got a date scheduled for the installation.
Our Foreman, Ryan, and his production team began the project by cleaning out the entire crawl space from back to front. Next, our team installed 1,092 square feet of our CleanSpace Encapsulation Moisture Barrier, which is made to prevent mold and pests, provides more storage space, and keeps the warm and cold air out depending on the season. The installation took two days and James was happy with the work that was done!

A customer from Audubon, MN got in contact with us when he began to notice water entering his crawl space, creating musty odors and rotting wood. He was afraid that if left the condition untouched, it might compromise the structural integrity of the space. When he called our Appointment Center, we set him up with our FREE estimate, entitling him to a thorough inspection of the issue. Once the appointment was scheduled, our Design Specialist, Kole, headed out to the property to do a walkthrough. Once completed, Kole was able to make recommendations about how to fix the issue. He recommended the use of our CleanSpace vapor barrier. He explained that, along with our Drainage Matting, these two would work together to trap and drain the unwanted water from the space to the appropriate disposal site. The customer agreed and work began shortly after.
Our Production crew, led by our Foreman, Arturo, ended up wrapping the crawl space in 463 sqft of CleanSpace, and installing 346 sqft of our drainage matting. They ended the job by sealing up any remaining cracks and holes with our spray foam, a hardening foam that works to block water intrusion. Once the job was done, our customer was happy to know that unwanted water intrusion was a worry of the past!
Jeff M. of Audubon, MN, met our team at one of our Home Show events. After learning about what the American Waterworks team does, he realized that his crawlspace desperately needed our attention. Before we stepped in, Jeff's crawlspace was subjected to the elements, leading to an increase in moisture AND energy bills.
We sent out our Design Specialist, Kole, to provide a free estimate, diagnose the problem, and come up with a solution. After a careful inspection, Kole proposed our CleanSpace Vapor System. Jeff felt confident that all his questions were answered, so he scheduled the installation date.
Our foreman, Aurturo, and his production team installed drainage matting and 463 square feet of our CleanSpace system to encapsulate the crawlspace. Our CleanSpace Vapor System is mechanically connected to walls with plastic fasteners, so it never falls. It also prevents humidity from invading the walls and gives the area a clean and bright appearance with a 25-year warranty. Mark and Sharron of Miltona, MN, noticed musty, damp smells coming from their dirt crawlspace. They knew the importance of encapsulating their crawlspace to protect against odors, rodents, insects, and more, especially since they planned to keep their lake home long. After researching, they decided to call American Waterworks and were set up with a FREE inspection. Our Design Specialist, Ian, headed to the property a few weeks later. Once he completed his walkthrough, he recommended how American Waterworks could help. Our customers agreed with the recommendations, and work began shortly after.
Our Foreman, Ryan, and his crew began by installing our drainage matting, a dimpled mat that is installed onto the floor of the crawl space. This gives any excess water a route to flow through the space and be disposed of at an external site such as a drain or a sump system. The second installation was our CleanSpace vapor barrier, a 100% waterproof tarp that traps any excess moisture in the space, redirecting it to the appropriate disposal site.
Finally, our team added an Aprilaire dehumidifier, which creates healthy air and can reduce the number of viable viruses to less than 1% in two days when set to 50% relative humidity. This and our crawl space liner will create a drier, healthier crawl space. Our crawl space liner is made with seven layers of tough, durable material designed to withstand traffic from the homeowner and workers -- with a 25-year written, transferable warranty! Mark and Sharron were very pleased with the results and grateful their peace of mind was restored.
