Mark M. of Detroit Lakes, MN had water leaking from his crawl space walls and floor, causing him to worry about water moisture and humidity problems in his home. He called American Waterworks to schedule a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Richie Noreen. Richie went to his home, inspected his crawl space, and came up with a solution that worked for him and his budget. Mark got all of his questions answered about the encaspulation process, so he went ahead with the project and scheduled an installation date.
Our Foreman, Corey Tollefson, and his production team began the project by applying 1,436 feet of drainage matting on the floor of Mark's crawl space. Our drainage matting is made to direct the water flooding the crawl space to the perimeter crawl space drain and sump pump system. Next, our team installed 2,288 feet of our CleanSpace Encapuslation Vapor Barrier. Our vapor barrier is used to transform the crawl space into a dry, clean, and energy-efficient part of the home. Along with protection from mold and rot, a dry crawl space will also be inhospitable to termites, cockroaches, ants, crickets, and many other pests that need excess moisture to survive.
For this job, we headed out to Perham, MN, where we assisted a customer who was having issues with bowing wood and water in their crawl space. Our Design Specialist, Richie, headed out to the property and was able to recommend solutions for both of the issues. To address the bowing wood, Richie suggested they have several SmartJacks installed under the main beam of the floorboard. Our SmartJacks have the option to be tightened over time, making it the ideal solution for homeowners who need a long-term fix. Richie suggested our CleanSpace waterproofing encapsulation be installed in the crawl space to keep it dry and energy-efficient. Another excellent project completed by Richie, our Foreman Cameron, and his team!
A customer from Perham, MN got in contact with us when he began to notice that his crawl space was causing issues with his home. When he called in, he noted that he was experiencing unwanted water in the space along with a sinking floor from the room above. He had concerns that if he left the issue unresolved, it would result in damage being done to the structure of the home which would cost more to fix down the road. We set him up with our FREE estimate and our Design Specialist, Richie N headed out to the property to assess the situation. Once Richie had completed his thorough walkthrough, he made several recommendations as to how we could help. First, Richie wanted to wrap the space in our CleanSpace vapor barrier, which is a tarp-like material that traps water and helps deposit it to the appropriate location. Second, Richie recommended our AprilAire dehumidifier, one of the most elite self-draining dehumidifiers on the market. Finally, Richie wanted to address the sagging floor by using our Support Jacks, which are adjustable supplemental support systems used specifically for sagging crawl spaces and can restore them to their original position. Our customer agreed with the suggestions and work began shortly after.
Our Foreman, Cameron, and his crew worked quickly to install 12 of our SmartJack support jacks and 1030 sqft of CleanSpace throughout the crawl space, and finished off the job by installing one of our Aprilaire dehumidifiers. Once completed, our customer was happy to know that he didn't need to worry about the structural integrity of his home any longer!

After they received the stamp approval from the homeowner and the office, they were passed along to our Foreman, Kiko, and his crew. Kiko and his crew traveled to the home to begin the project. First, the crew started by removing all the debris from the crawl space. Once the space was cleared, the crew shifted their focus to laying the Drainage Matting on the crawl space floor. Next, the crew installed CleanSpace in the crawl space floors and walls. Additionally, the crew was asked to wrap the piers in the crawl space.
