Once the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of Ian, one of our Design Specialists. Ian made his way to the home and began the thorough inspection of the crawl space. During his inspection, Ian confirmed the crawl space was the source of the odor. To stop the odor, Ian recommended fully encapsulating the crawl space. Knowing this was their best option, the homeowner decided to go ahead with these suggestions. Next, Ian sent the proposal to our Logistics team to build and schedule the plan. As soon as the plans were approved, it was directed to our Foreman, Franklin, and his crew to begin. Franklin and his crew received the proposal and traveled to the home to begin the project. Once they arrived, Franklin and his crew began by clearing the crawl space. Once the crawl space was cleared, the crew went ahead and laid the Drainage Matting on the basement floor. Next, the crew installed CleanSpace on the walls and floors of the crawl space. Finally, the crew attached Foamax to ensure the crawl space stays insulated. Franklin and his crew completed the encapsulation, so they cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was impressed with the excellent work completed by the crew. American Waterworks is delighted to assist its customers in encapsulating their crawl spaces.
A homeowner in Fairmont, MN, noticed that his home was taking longer than normal to heat the home and was unsure of the reason. Our Design Specialist, Lance S., arrived at the home in a couple of weeks to assess the crawl space, answer any questions, and provide the best solution for the homeowner. During the inspection, Lance explained that one of the common causes of high moisture levels in a crawl space is dirt floors. Having a dirt floor in your crawl space means that your home is not separated from the earth, causing insects, pets, moisture, and mold to easily enter the home. For this reason, Lance recommended CleanSpace, our vapor wall barrier that prevents water from permeating through the floors and walls, Drainage Matting, which creates a drainage space and thermal break between the CleanSpace and ground, Foamax, our foam insulation panel that helps control crawl space humidity, and SmartDrain, a plumping system that alerts the homeowner if there is a leak. The homeowner happily agreed with Lance's suggestions, and his design was sent to our Foreman, Kiko P.
In a couple of months, Kiko and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. They installed 884 sqft of CleanSpace, 768 sqft of Drainage Matting, 224 sqft of Foamax, and 1 SmartDrain. After they were done with the installation, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.

After signing up for their FREE estimate, we sent one of our Design Specialists, Ian, to complete the project. Ian arrived at the church and began his detailed inspection. Once he completed the inspection, Ian found several issues regarding the foundation and crawl space. Ian recommended permanently stabilizing the foundation and fully encapsulating the crawl space. Knowing these fixes were necessary, the church agreed with Ians' suggestions. Once they were approved by the office, the plans were sent to our Foreman, Kingsley, and his crew. After they received the stamp of approval, the crew traveled to the home and began the project. Kingsley and his crew started by cleaning out all the debris from the crawl space. Once the debris was cleared, the crew installed 36 SmartJacks throughout the crawl space. Next, the crew put seven GeoLock Wall Anchors into place. The crew shifted their focus to encapsulating the crawl space. First, the crew began by installing Draintile around the perimeter and interior foundation. Then, the crew installed the TripleSafe Sump Pump in the western corner of the crawl space. Next, the crew placed Drainage Matting on the floor and installed CleanSpace over top. Additionally, CleanSpace was installed on several columns and obstructions throughout the crawl space. Once the CleanSpace was installed, the crew installed Foamax on the perimeter walls and over the openings in the foundation. The crew successfully installed all the products throughout the crawl space, so they cleaned up their materials and left the home. The church was relieved to know their foundation was permanently stabilized and the crawl space was properly encapsulated. American Waterworks is happy to provide its customers peace of mind.
