Following a series of heavy thunderstorms, a homeowner in Faribault, MN, discovered their basement was suffering significantly. Unsure of the cause, the homeowner began searching for "interior basement drain system installation near me." One of the first companies to grab their attention was us, American Waterworks, so the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of our Design Specialist, Brian. A few days later, Brian promptly arrived at the home and began the thorough inspection of the basement. During the inspection, Brian confirmed that several areas were suffering from water intrusion. To prevent the water intrusion from worsening, Brian recommended installing several waterproofing products throughout the basement. Knowing this was the best plan of action, the homeowner decided to go ahead with Brian's recommendations. Next, the homeowner and Brian worked together to find the best installation date. When the installation date arrived, our Foreman, Raul, and his crew traveled to the home to begin the installation. First, Raul and his crew started by installing WaterGuard around the basement perimeter. Once the WaterGuard was secured, the crew took out the old sump pump and replaced it with the TripleSafe sump pump. Finally, the crew attached CleanSpace to the unfinished basement walls. Finally, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was impressed with the excellent work completed by the crew. Once all the products were completed, the crew cleaned up their matierals and left the home. American Waterworks is happy to repair its customers' water-damaged basements.
A Faribault, MN, homeowner was looking to add a bedroom to his basement but was running into an issue. For his new addition to be a legal bedroom, he needed a means of egress that met codes of safety. He began the search for companies in the area that could help, and ended up finding our website. He signed up for his FREE estimate, and a few weeks later, our Design Specialist headed out to the home.
Once our Design Specialist completed his inspection, he met with the homeowner to give his recommendations. Our Design Specialist recommended using our RockWell Window Well. RockWell offers an attractive alternative to ugly window wells while providing a safe, code-compliant basement egress. RockWell window wells are a one-piece, rigid construction that will not collapse from backfill or allow water to leak through the well walls. They’re UV stable, rust and rot proof, and stand up to extreme temperatures. A polycarbonate safety cover keeps leaves and debris out while allowing natural sunlight and fresh outside air to enter your basement. While they are not intended for continual foot traffic, the 10mm fluted polycarbonate cover will hold up to 500 lbs. of weight and prevent family members from accidentally falling into the window well. The homeowner liked the sound of our Design Specialist's plan and scheduled the work for a few weeks later.
On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Luis D, was able to install the RockWell with no issues. Now, our customer can enjoy his new addition, knowing its code-compliant!
A Shakopee, MN, homeowner was down in the storage unit below his stairs when he noticed large spots of mold growth on the wall. Confused as to how it could have gotten there, he decided to find a mold removal specialist. Through his searching, he found American Waterworks. He realized his issue might be due to unwanted water intrusion, so he set up a FREE estimate to see if we could be of any help.
Several weeks later, Ryan P, one of our Design Specialists, was headed out to the home. After conducting his inspection, he met with the homeowner to inform him that his suspicions were correct, the space was taking on water, making it the perfect atmosphere for mold growth. Ryan went on to say that we had several products that could help. First, Ryan recommended our WaterGuard drain, explaining that this unique French drain is installed below the floor but atop the footing of the foundation, keeping it clear of the 'mud zone', where similar drains clog. He elaborated, saying that this drain functions to collect water entering the space through holes and cracks in the floor, giving it a channel to flow freely to a disposal site, which in this case, was a pre-placed sump pump. His second recommendation was our Foamax wall panels. Foamax is a polyisocyanurate foam insulated panel with a white foil finish on the front and a foil vapor barrier on the back. This innovative product offers several benefits such as high insulation value, creating a warm basement, brightening your space, being left exposed, and drains wall leaks to the WaterGuard system to keep the space dry and healthy. The homeowner was thrilled with Ryan's recommendations and, after some thought, signed on for the project.
Our Foreman, Lane S, arrived several weeks later. He and his team successfully installed 22 ft of WaterGuard and Foamax, restoring the customer's peace of mind in his mold-free space!

Roger and Patricia S. of Shakopee, MN were experiencing groundwater around all perimeters of their basement floor. They did some research on HomeAdvisor and found American Waterworks. They requested a FREE Estimate, so our Design Specialist went to their home to inspect the groundwater damage and drew up a solution. Roger and Patricia got all of their questions answered and were confident in the proposal of our WaterGuard Below-Floor Drain, so they moved forward with the project.
Our Foreman and his production team began the project by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter with a jackhammer. Our team formed a trench and installed our WaterGuard in the trench. Our WaterGuard does not only serve as an interior drainage system. It also prevents mud clogs and collects water seepage from basement walls. To complete the installation, our Foreman and his crew filled the open gaps with small rocks and applied a new layer of concrete over them. Roger and Patricia were satisfied with our work and were happy with the transformation!
Matt T. of Shakopee, MN had water leaking through the corner of his unfinished basement wall during heavy rainstorms and he wanted to get it looked at it before it got any worse. He knew of an employee at American Waterworks, so he scheduled a free estimate with our Design Specialist, Tim Schneider. Tim went to his home, carefully inspected his problems, and drew out a solution that worked for him and his budget. He was confident in Tim's proposal and presentation, so he followed through with the project.
Our Foreman, Lane Schlobohm, and his production team started the work by installing our CleanSpace Half Wall System Vapor Barrier around the basement wall perimeter, which is made to prevent mold and mildew, and it acts as an extra wall protectant. Next, our team installed our DryTrak Drain Pipe System, which is permanently installed above the floor. Our crew drilled a weep hole through each foundation block to enable the water to pour through the holes and into the drain pipe. The installation only took one day and Matt was happy with the work that was completed!
